Montreal

In April we took the train from NYC to Montreal. It snowed. The train ride there was surprisingly relaxing and the scenery was really beautiful. I highly recommend training it up to Montreal if you can. Shot on a Mamiya 645 Pro TL and Kodak film.

Happy Birthday, Little J!

A year ago today, this lovely, funny, smart couple brought a new little boy into this world. And he is quite possibly the most good-natured child I have ever encountered. Happy Birthday Little J! You are adored by everyone who meets you.

Jazz Age | Governors Island | August 2012

I brought an old Canon AE-1 with me to the Jazz Age Lawn Party back in 2012. Unfortunately, half way through the day the camera completely died. Never to be resurrected again. RIP Canon AE-1. You can see photos from previous Jazz Age Lawn Parties here and here. 

The Cow Takes Manhattan | Manhattan | March 2004

Back in 2004 I entered a photography contest (I believe it was for Time Out NY). The editors requested a photo series that "represented New York" and was "quintessential New York."  Now, I have no idea why "quintessential New York" translated to a cow wandering the streets of New York to me, but apparently, that's what came to mind. Needless to say, I didn't win the contest. Not even an honorable mention! Anyway, I can hardly believe that these were taken ten years ago. I love looking at the people in the shots and being reminded that there was a time, not so long ago, when the masses had no camera phones, no Instagram, no twitter and were left to just talk about it, with maybe a stack of photos developed at a drug store, this sighting of a lost cow, wandering the mean streets of Manhattan.
